Some of our photographs are available as an « illustration », i.e. where the photograph has been manipulated to give it a more artistic representation. Here is an example an original photograph versus its illustration.

Personnalized Greeting Insert

If desired, we can print a personnalized greeting of your choice and insert it inside each card. The message is printed on paper and lightly glued inside the card. The recipient will be able to easily remove the paper as well as the glue in order to make the card reusable.

For the insertion of a personnalized greeting, a setup fee of $20 applies + $0.20 per card.

Social involvement

It is important for us to support and encourage initiatives that aim to inspire young Inuit, to give them hope and a sense of belonging. Polar Horizons is therefore proud to get involved and to donate a portion of its revenues to the such initiatives. The projects that we currently support are:

Artcirq is an initiative that is offering Igloolik's youth the possibility of expressing itself through the art of circus. This social circus has allowed several young Inuit to open their horizons and travel throughout Canada,  Europe, Africa and South America. Igloolik's youth now knows that it is entitled to dream and that those dreams, even the wildest ones, may very well become reality.

During summer 2009, 133 children from Kuujjuaq, aged 4 to 17, participed in the Northern Lights community project aimed at stimulate their expression and creativity through photography and allowing them to widen their vision of their environment and community.

Obviously, the children had a great time having taken over 6 000 photographs. An exhibition of 50 of their photos will be available in 2010. We hope that this first step's success will allow the project to be offered in the other communities throughout Nunavik so that more children can benefit from it.
