Before founding Polar Horizons, France Rivet accumulated over 23 years of experience in computer and system development. For 11 years, she managed her own consulting business. She has worked in the private and public sectors as well as overseas.

Her love for adventure & discovery has taken her in more than 17 countries on 3 continents. She has planned and organized the logistics surrounding several trip in Canada and overseas. As often as possible, she tries to share her discoveries. Her  texts and photographs have been published in French-speaking newspapers and magazines in Quebec.   France is also involved in her community. She was a member of the steering committee for the 2009 National Capital Region Wildlife Festival and is a member of the organizing committee for the new Nature festival, Plumes et Quenouilles (Feathers and  Cattails) that should see the light in 2011 in the  Outaouais region. She is an active member of the Club de photographie Polarisé de l'Outaouais where she shares the responsiblity for coordinating the activities of Nature group. She is also the initiator and coordinator for a group photo exhibit entitled «Native plants throughout the seasons».

Hélène Girard

Originally from Chicoutimi, Hélène grew up in Quebec's Bas St-Laurent region. Professionnaly a musician, she discovered painting a few years ago and after living for more than 20 years in the Northwest Territories, the North has become her endless source of inspiration. Hélène is particularly known for her paintings illustrating the aviation world in the nordic regions.

She has received numerous national and international awards and her paintings can be found all around Canada. Many are part of the Canadian Museum of Aviation in Ottawa.

In spring 2009, CTV's Regional Contact presented Helene and her paintings to their viewers.

Hélène currently lives in Gatineau, Quebec.

Michel Gosselin

MICHEL GOSSELIN'S interest in photography began in the early 70's when he inherited several old camera's from his grand-mother. Michel was recently converted to digital photography, and is now discovering a whole new world of sophisticated equipment and software. His area of greatest interest is High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography. In 2008, he launched PhotoMichel to offer his services as a photographer and to share his vision of photography and light. Also in 2008, Michel completed three trips to Alaska, Yukon, NWT, Alberta and British Columbia and finds these environments extremely motivating for their amazing light and powerful landscapes.

Michel is a member of the Club de photographie Polarisé de l'Outaouais.

Pierre CarpentierPierre Carpentier


Originating from the Outaouais, Pierre has always shown an interest for photography but it is only since 2005 that he's been practicing it seriously. Pierre has a passion for Nature photography and has a preference for birds, flowers and macrophotography. His 150-500mm lens is the one that is particularly fond of.

Pierre is an inconditionnal of american photographer Art Wolfe's Travels to the edge television series and he is ann active member of the Club de photographie Polarisé de l'Outaouais.

Robert GravelRobert Gravel


Originating from the Outaouais, Robert is known among the Club de photographie Polarisé de l'Outaouais as THE bird specialist. As for Pierre, Robert has been practicing photography seriously for the past 5 years and his specialties are birds, landscapes, flowers, etc. To obtain the perfect shot, Robert will not hesitate to go in the water up to his neck or get really close to the cliff's edge.
