The northern part of the Canadian province of Manitoba is home to the southernmost population of polar bears. Every fall the migration of the polar bears attracts thousands of tourists to the town of Churchill. Located right on the Hudson Bay coastline, Churchill is known worldwide as being the "Polar bear capital". The Wapusk National Park, located nearby, is a significant denning area for the polar bears. Polar bears are not the only Arctic wildlife one can find in the Churchill area : belugas, arctic foxes and even orcas have now seen more frequently at the mouth of the Churchill river.
