Following our very first trip to the Canadian High Arctic in 2005, we were anxious to return above the Arctic circle. The following summer, we headed to the northern part of Norway. We began by staying a few days in Tromso, in the county of Troms, the northernmost part of continental Norway before continuing on to Svalbard, an archipelago situated in the middle of the Arctic Ocean and the Sea of Barents.

  • Located above the Arctic Circle beyond the 69th parallel, Tromso is sometimes called «Paris of North». During our two-day stop in the city, at the end of June, we discovered such a green city where the temperatures were warm enough for us to wear our shorts and T-shirts!
