Torngat Mountains National Park

The Torngat mountains (Torngait, in the Inuktitut language meaning «place inhabited by the spirits») is a mountain range located at the northern tip of the Labrador peninsula. In 2005, Parks Canada established the Torngat Mountains National Park to protect the wild nature of this area where Inuit have been living for thousands of years. Today's Inuit keep their conception of a spiritual presence in the Torngat Mountains and they will all convince you that these beliefs are not legends. At one time or another, they have all lived through an event proving to them that the spirits of their predecessors still inhabit these mountains.
