Welcome to Polar Horizons’ new website

(Version française de ce texte)

After several months of work, Polar Horizons’ new website is now online. A big thank you goes to graphic designer Nicole Vallée for the site’s design, as well as to Nicolas Pham-Dinh for the development and implementation work.

You will find several new features:

  • The boutique which now allows you to order our art cards online. In addition, all card orders made ??through our online store now benefit organizations / non-profit projects that have decided to use our cards as a fundraising method. A portion of the purchase price will be donated to them. You simply have to select which organisation you wish to support. If you are and/or know of organisations that could benefit from such an agreement, do not hesitate to contact us.
  • Polar Horizons is also releasing a new collection of five notebooks on topics related to the polar regions. These notebooks are available through Blurb. Each book contains 80 pages and includes twenty photos. Thanks to Nicole Vallée for establishing the “look and feel” of these notebooks:
    • POLAR BEARS

      WILDLIFE NORTH OF 60

      ARCTIC FLORA

      CHURCHILL, MANITOBA

      NUNATSIAVUT

Two of the above notebooks are also available with blank pages rather than lined ones. Here they are:

      POLAR BEARS (blank pages)

      ARCTIC FLORA (blank pages)

Abraham, his wife Ulrike, their young daughters Sara (3) and Maria (13 months) as well as a nephew Tobias.

Finally, you will discover our research project “In the footsteps of Abraham Ulrikab” which will introduce you to one of the most moving human stories of Canada: that of a group of eight Inuit from northern Labrador who were brought to Europe in 1880 to become the latest “exotic attraction” in various zoos! Less than four months after their arrival, they were all dead, swept away by smallpox. Five of them died in Paris without anyone ever knowing what happened to their remains. For two years now, Polar Horizons has been involved in a research to elucidate the various mysteries surrounding their European stay. The more we search the more we discover a fascinating story!

On this note, I’ll leave you the pleasure of exploring the new site. Do not hesitate to send us your feedback.

Oh! I almost forgot! We are in the process of preparing the first issue of our new Polar Horizons’s newsletter. It should be published sometime in November. However, you can sign up now by clicking on the link above or from the website. This will ensure that you will be kept informed of our adventures, lectures, activities and upcoming events and new releases in the boutique. In addition, you will be at the forefront when comes time to unveil the results of our research project In the footsteps of Abraham Ulrikab . Rest assured! We will not share or sell your email address to anyone. You will not receive emails from us other than our newsletter and you will be able to unsubscribe at any time.

Thank you and looking forward to continue to share our polar passion!
